Council distributes free garden waste bins
This year, everyone in West Berkshire will be delivered free garden waste bins in an attempt to encourage recycling. Those with no space for bins or no garden can phone for the bins to be removed again, but otherwise everyone will be given a bin. A leaflet will accompany this freebie, with information on what people can recycle and how the project can help the environment.
Berkshire is also introducing new recycle boxes for paper, card, glass, plastic bottles and cans. June sees the beginning of collections for this area. Hopefully such changes will continue to spread through UK councils, and see a significant increase in the amount of rubbish our households recycle.
