Compost goes green for Compost Awareness Week
Compost Awareness Week earlier this month saw the UK raising awareness for green compost methods in the garden, and how this can help combat climate change worldwide. This week, run jointly by the Compost Association and the Waste & Resources Action Programme encourages the use of peat-free compost, made from recycled garden and kitchen waste - excess food waste and decomposable items.
Not only can this form of recycling reduce the amount of material you are sending to landfill sites, but it also provides a friendly sources of food for your garden. You can find out more about composting and supplies for setting up your own composting bin here.
