How do compactors work?
Click here for compactor diagram and explanation
What are the advantages?
-
Volume reducing - By reducing the amount of waste you in turn reduce:
- a) Transportation costs
- b) Labour costs
- c) Site space
- Improved hygiene - As the compactor and container are fully enclosed, vermin infestation is eliminated. Fire risk is minimised and general site cleanliness is improved.
- Environmentally friendly - Less transport means less fuel and fewer vehicles on the road. Less vermin, less fire danger and also less odours, which is a very important factor in built up areas, particularly in hot climates.
Which model do I choose?
MOBILE COMPACTORS
Where relatively small amounts of waste are generated, a mobile compactor is recommended. A mobile compactor is an all in one compactor and container and is wholly removed from site when it is full.
THE ADVANTAGES:
- Not fixed to one site
- Space saving
- Fully enclosed – no spillage and therefore more hygienic
STATIC COMPACTORS
Where larger amounts of waste are generated consistently, a static compactor is required. Static compactors are more robust than mobile units and can handle a greater range of waste. Containers are attached by hooks, and are removed when full.
THE ADVANTAGES:
- Greater compaction density - Higher loads
- Site adaptability - Special attachments to compactor, such as hydraulic loaders, vacuum chutes and feed systems ensure full integration into site
- Greater speed - Larger volumes can be handled per hour
VERTICAL BALERS
Where small to medium amounts of waste such as paper, cardboard and plastic is generated, a vertical baler is suggested. Vertical balers are an ideal solution where space is at a premium and have a strong robust design, which allows for easy repositioning.
THE ADVANTAGES:
- Reduces haulage costs and frequency
- Financial return on recycled material
- Space saving
What is the cost of Anchorpac equipment?
Purchase prices will vary depending on the required equipment. Anchorpac also offer a comprehensive leasing and rental programme covering all equipment we manufacture.
Do you offer second hand equipment?
Yes. Refurbished machinery is offered but is subject to availability.
Do your machines come with a warranty?
Yes. All of our new equipment is supplied with a 12 months unconditional warranty and our refurbished equipment a 6 months unconditional warranty, which usually runs alongside our preventative maintenance programme.
What is the compaction ratio of your machines?
The Anchorpac range has by design, high ram force pressure, which will reduce the volume of waste by a general ratio of 5 to 1, reducing transport and landfill charges.
Do you provide servicing and repairs on your equipment?
AP Waste Handling offer a comprehensive servicing and maintenance programme. From breakdown cover, giving an emergency callout option, to routine servicing and maintenance contract, we can provide a service tailored to your needs.
What types of waste can your machines compact?
The only waste which a Compactor CANNOT competently compact is 'builders rubble' and solid metals.
Anchorpac balers will bale paper, cardboard, plastics, foils and aluminium.
