How do compactors work?

Diagram A: Fork Lift Loading Hopper Compaction System

1. Waste is loaded into a hopper (several loading/hopper variations available)

2. Refuse is fed into the chosen hopper format and falls into the charge box.

3. Press start button to begin operation.

4. The hydraulically driven ram will then push waste from the charge box into the compaction container, which will compress on itself to give a typical compaction ratio of 5:1 for general waste.

5. When the container approaches 3⁄4 capacity a pre-full warning light will illuminate allowing your operator to contact your nominated hauler in advance.

6. Once the container is full, the process will stop and the container must be removed from the compactor by releasing the quick release clamps
